CHO Toy Donation in Vienna Friday December 12

drop off from 9 to noon at Vienna Presbyterian

This is an urgent request for your help…

“I had some disappointing news this morning.  After two weeks of trying to reach the company that makes the largest toy donation to set up their delivery, they finally called back today and said they aren’t going to be able to help us at all this year!  Right now, we’re preparing for around 400 children.  More than 70 of them are teens and hopefully will be served by donations of gift cards.  The rest we usually serve with toys and fun items.  I’ve broken down the list into age groups such as 3-4 year olds, 5-6 year olds and we have around 50 boys and girls in each group.”

We called Carolyn Mysel to get some additional detail on what they need for you to bring over on Friday:

  • Unwrapped toys
  • New clothes
  • Outside toys
  • Balls
  • legos
  • games
  • specifically toys for 7 to 12 year old boys
  • no stuffed animals needed
  • she already seemed okay in the “gift card” category

Carolyn explained that families in need are allowed to select through the donated toys. CHO needs toys for children from 1 month to 12 years old. Toys should not be too large since many of the children live in small apartments, so, please keep that point in mind.

She concluded with “we appreciate anything you can donate to help us.”
