The Northeast Vienna Citizens Association is excited to be hosting another Meet the Candidates event at the Vienna Community Center on October 13, 2023.
The Northeast Vienna Citizens Association, NEVCA, has hosted these events over the last twenty years. Candidates for the Vienna Virginia Town Council are invited to introduce themselves and answer member questions in a fast-paced, round-robin style collegiate style forum.
Following an educational format fashioned after League of Women Voters events, questions are asked to help demonstrate knowledge, show creative solutions, and capture the personality of each candidate.
“We are excited to be doing this event in person again,” says Bob McCahill, President of NEVCA.
Again, Doug Francis will moderate from the lectern asking questions and keeping the seven participants on a tight schedule.
The last in-person event was held at the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department in 2019 and was attended by 125 people including the local press. During the Pandemic, the forum was conducted using Zoom and broadcast using the Town of Vienna public information station, 38 on FiOS and 27 on Cox Communications.
